![]() DS3D could be on of off - makes no difference. When I encode the file with flac.exe, it gives the warning, 'WARNING: legacy WAVE file has type 1 but bits-per-sample24,' but it finishes and verifies. However, when I convert it to FLAC, it won't play in anything. With the stable release there were no problems. This WAV file won't play in Windows Media Player but will play in Foobar. Unrecoverable playback error: Sample rate of 1411200 Hz not. Also the initialization of playback takes a long time. I have been a great fan of Foobar2000 especially since the SACD playback plugin was introduced. In Foobar you should enable a Resampler DSP and set it to 96Khz. ![]() Google tells me you should be setting it to 96-kHz / 24-bit. Foobar, another program or possibly some sort of driver control panel could be the cause. Disabling DS3D works, but the options to change Output/Dither are still unavailable. Greyed out i think could be because something has 'exclusive control'. Fixed noise issue during channel count change when automatic. Unrecoverable playback error: Device not found (0x88780078) Reply 7 19:38:16. Fixed player UI freeze while processing very large audio chunks. Fixed player getting stuck when pausing a short track (bug introduced in 0.6.5). So some of them may yeild no sound to the XDA-2 until you click on the correct one because you accidentally may have clicked on the motherboard soundcard. Reduced the glitch size when default audio device changes and buffer gets converted to the new format. Just be warned there may be multiple SPDIF options as your computer may already have an SPDIF output from the inbuilt motherboard soundcard. So if you see the SPDIF WASAPI output option on foobar then that's what you need to click. You don't have to rename it but what I'm seeing is if I'm understanding it right, the XDA-2 USB driver is actually called SPDIF which is confusing as it should be called USB or XDA-2 or something like that. You are in windows mode.Į/resources/media/xda2/How_to_rename_the_XDA-2_USB_device_driver.pdf Now.if the output device that you seleceted doesn't say WASAPI on it, then you are not in bit perfect mode. The files are compatible with foobar2000. I have searched high and low but can see no reference - can anyone tell me if 352/24 FLACs are compatible with F2k. Either way if you are seeing the words WASAPI in the options box then you have it installed. Unrecoverable playback error: The parameter is incorrect. I wasn't familiar with the new way so just told you to do it the old way but also double click it to be sure. It used to be that you just cut and paste the dll but now it appears that they actually have a program that does that for you. Perhaps the firmware didn't quite achieve that claim, and perhaps when the DAC receives DSD1024 it reports DSD64 instead, and it could well be a bug in the USB firmware/driver, and completely unrelated to Foobar? I'll keep investigating and perhaps I'll reach out to Denafrips support too.Yeah foobar updated it's way of component instalation. ![]() I updated the USB firmware on my DAC to the latest version, which is v3.12, and that particular version on the website ( ) says "Supports PCM1536 / DSD1024" as part of the firmware release. ![]() On the Ares II specs site, it says "NOTE* USB Firmware V3.4.1 - PCM1536 / DSD1024 supports disabled for compatibility with macOS". Also, PCM 1536 is greyed out, even though the DAC specs say it can do it. I installed Audirvana, and with the ASIO driver, it shows the DAC can do up to DSD512, even though the DAC website claims it can do DSD1024 ( + ). I think it could be the DAC driver, and perhaps not Foobar related. This tutorial is divided in two sections, the first one is intended for those who have DACs that support DSD and want to configure Foobar to play and output DSD.
